Ford County : A review

Written by John Grisham, it is a collection of short stories that span around 340 pages. There are seven stories and each story averaged around 50 pages, quite short. I just bought it on Saturday morning at Kinokuniya KLCC and I already finished one story by the time I arrived home and by Sunday night, I am done with the whole books >_<

The whole book in general is quite good though I believe his novel is way better than this one. There are certain twists and humours in each story but if u are used to his style, I am pretty sure u can deduce the plot and ending of the story halfway reading it.

If I am to evaluate each story separately, I would say 3 out of 7 are worth giving a try which are 'Casino', 'Quiet haven' and 'Funny boy'. The remaining stories are not that interesting and engaging to my taste. All in, I would say he had done better work with his novel as compared to this collection of short stories though it is suitable for light reading since the plot is not too heavy.

He is a good author, no doubt about that. If u want to pick one of his book, I would suggest 'The Pelican Brief' or 'The Runaway Jury' and both tittles had been made into movie quite some time ago. Out of all his books, I re-read back these two books and it still manage to bring about the same suspense and thrill that I felt during my first reading. Mind u, it's quite a long read and might suck up a lot of your time =P

Love,
me

p/s: Look like ur first suggestion to me didn't go well, Calvin. Maybe the second choice, Jeffrey Archer will be better xD
