There are two types of single that I observed, those that will wait for their prince charming to come fetch them while others will go to the great length of finding one ^_^
There is the third one, they that choose to remain as single but we won't trouble ourselves with them since it's their loss =P hehe....
Out of those two, the latter one is at the most risk; risk at getting dump, at getting cheated, at getting their heart broken. Once u start open ur heart to someone, anything is possible but there're some benefits too. The other party might be a shy/timid type and he wait for someone like u to confess 1st =) Though u might get cheated, u will learn from that and be ready for the next time.
For the first, well you are the safest. Most of the time, they that admit their feeling to you really mean it. But do notice that I used 'most' because there are some rare exceptions >_< There are some catches to it. You won't get the privilege of choice and have to be content with whoever that has the courage to ask you xD
So, which one will u choose?
Will u be the Prince Charming, searching for ur damsel?
Will u be the Snow White, await for the kiss behind glass coffin?
