It was divided into several parts and we, my friends and I, unanimously voted the 1st part, the brain, as our most boring part of all. Seriously, the lecturer was very boring and the content was just too much for one hour lecture. There were also some crazy lecturers that came in with short and t-shirt, put on some heavy metal song before lecture started and used just one slide of his dog to talk for an hour. It's not like 1 out of 18. It was really just one slide prepared for that lecture >_<
The one I loved the most is the developmental/children behaviour thingy. I forgot the correct term already =P hehe..It taught us the process whereby a baby grow, how he acquire his language, his thinking, how his brain and behaviour develops, the effect of reward and punishment on his upbringing. Apart from it's fun to learn, I find it useful and practical to be apply in real life scenario. Just look at some parent and their child and u can already analyze how they bring him up and the effect it had on that child.
As u guys know, I am living with my cousin right now and he has a small daughter, around 6 years old d. When I observed her and how her parent acted around him, I knew there gonna be trouble. Been the only child, they are quite lenient with her. There are rules and whatnot in the house but it could easily bend to suit her lot of times. They don't really complement each other well. When the mom tried to be strict, the dad will save her and give her way and vice versa. It will create lot of confusion to her that reward and punishment no longer have any effect on her. I had seen enough evidences to safely assume that she gonna grow up a bit spoiled if it continues like this.
I feel like barge in sometimes but been an outsider, just gonna have to see from far and hope things will turn out not as I had expected.

me
I absolutely dislike all these psychological theories. They're such a nightmare. And maybe psych lecturers have that in common. One of my lecturers has redundant photos. The lecture notes are completely useless.
ReplyDeleteI love the theories part but not the memorization of the hippocampus, cerebellum, all the cortex thingy..urgh! Oh well~ I'm passed and still alive...hehe XD
DeleteI studied psychology too. It was pretty fun since the lect was damn happening, she kept cracking jokes and the craziest questions she'll ask. I remember we learn about sexuality as well, and she did ask that question. LOL.
ReplyDeleteBout your cousin, that's the reason why so many kids these days are so pampered, not including those iPad stuff yet..
hahahaha....in the end, it's all depend on the lecturer and how they presented the lecture. So what did u answer? LOLLLL
Deleteyeah, really true. It's not easy for me to hate kid but I really can't deny that feeling I had though I know it's mroe the fault of the parent than the kid actually
i once thought of taking psychology in uni but somehow i didn't..huhuh
ReplyDeleteGood for u! trust me, u saved urself lot of troubles..hehe =D
