My first wind orchestra experience.....

I never attend an orchestra in Malaysia before because the dress code really put me off. Too ridiculous and strict just to attend one. It's not like it will make the experience more memorable. Plus, I'm not in a position to spend last time for  a recital since the ticket was quite expensive.

This time, it was a high school competition. So, there was no fee to enter XD no way I'm gonna let this chance go even if I have to abide to that stupid 'smart casual' rule

Been held at Plenari Hall, PICC, not as big compared with MPO. Think I would prefer it been held at MPO like previous year. The sound not that bad considering the hall is not built for musical purpose.

Eight schools will be performing that managed to get pass the preliminary round out of 24 schools. 10 minutes for each band plus 3-4 minutes for prep. Began by 3.15pm instead of 3 since those VVIPs in Malaysia really don't have money to buy watch for themselves and ended around 5 something. 


My own review after all bands had performed : 2 were really good and had high chance of winning, 2 really sucky and quite sloppy performance, the remaining 4 were just so-so, nothing to shout about. When the result was announced, I had shock of the day. My favorite bands were not even in top 3, only got consolation prize while one of the sucky band got top 3 T______T


Oh well, at least my favorite band's conductor got the 'Best Conductor' award. U deserve it, bro =)
