Few months ago I told someone, "I like u" and his reply was "why do u like me?" I was struck dumbfounded and couldn't reply back. When I tried to recall back, there wasn't a moment where I evaluate the reasoning behind my feeling towards him. It just popped out and been there since then.
When he asked again, I just blurted out anything that came to my mind and it sounded so lame and anyone could tell it was created on the spur of the moment. I'm not sure he bought my stupid reason or not =P
Some might argued that it was just a fleeting feeling that came from loneliness but if it's still there after such long period and lot of chance to meet other people, I don't really think 'fleeting' is the correct term to be used.
Back to the question. Some said that due to us been opportunistic creature, there bound to be a reason behind everything that we done, even loving someone. No matter how much we tried to deny it, deep down something has been fulfilled that make us like someone. Once the reason's gone, the feeling will too. Well, it could be true for someone that had a bad childhood, traumatized family that will lead to trust issue. Hence, they are not capable of giving out their feeling without compensation in return after such horrifying experience.
For common people, think it is possible. Not everything in this world operate on a barter system and love is one of them. We love someone from the bottom of our heart because we could and want to. After all, it is what makes loving someone interesting.
So, do u need one?

me
I believe if I like someone, its the love at first sight, then the love develops. If there's not heart beat or pink flush, its not the one.
ReplyDeleteLove at first sight...isn't that all depends on the appearance of the person thus making it a little bit shallow to just depend on it? I don't deny the possibility of love at first sight but for me, that is not something that could happen to every person...sometimes, u need to take the time to know the person first before the spark gonna be there =)
Deletei never fall i love, so i don't know. but does crush can be onsidered as love?
ReplyDeletehmmm.....
Crush is love, un-returned love =P
Deleteoucchhh unreturned eh?
Deleteunconfirmed most likely
DeleteJust like one cannot really define love, sometimes it's impossible to define the reasons for love...there is no biochemistry (at least not in the layman terms) that can explain feelings - that ache in the heart when someone (something?) special is not there...
ReplyDeleteyeah, definitely true...love is something when u can't explained it with word
DeleteDifferent people see love differently because of their upbringing, personality and experience etc. Just like some think love is reciprocal, some is sacrifice endlessly. No matter what, love is still important to people and no absolute reason for falling in love. =)
ReplyDeleteyup, couldn't agree more...no matter how we define it, the feeling of love will remain the same
