Realist. Realism.
realism
ˈrɪəlɪz(ə)m/
noun
1.
the attitude or practice of accepting a situation as it is and being prepared to deal with it accordingly.
I'm turning into one. Long long long time ago, I was a pessimist because I thought it's better to think the worst and prepare for it. Now not so much, the future no longer concern me much while the past has never bother me. If not, u think how I can just overcome any break up so quick it surprises others.
It has the perk of having me dealing with the present as it is without the need to think too much. An apple is an apple no matter by what name they call it by; that's my view now. Remember the cliche question of a glass with water in it and how to define it?
An optimist sees it half full, the pessimists sees it half empty, the realist......they just wanna know what's in it.
For a realist, logic and reasoning play a major role in their train of thought; it is what it is.
Been an optimist, u need a lot of faith while doubt is the central of a pessimist. In the way of a realist, u need neither.
So in short, been a realist is the most easiest of all
By being prepared for the worst doesn't necessarily mean you are a pessimist. In fact, that is a very realist approach to problem solving.
ReplyDeletePessimist would see the worst in everything, even in contingency planning and never have a positive view to things. And at its worst, will never plan for the worst cos to them, everything will fail, so why plan...
So when you say these days you accept things as they are, it reflects your maturity to accept things as they come and thus, not be too upset if it fails to meet your expectations.
You are on the right track to being a happy person!
You go boy!
:-)
hahaha that's a new way of looking at it. I will keep that in mind from now on =D
