Career or partner; which would u choose if u only have one choice?

I asked my friend this when we were playing truth or dare last year during one of our trip. Yes, I went for really tough question, so u better don't play with me =P

He was just attached recently. His answer was he would pick career because he just knew that guy and there's no guarantee yet that it will even last forever. So if he really have to sacrifice one, it definitely won't be his career that just start to bloom.

I don't know bout u guys but I agree with his POV. Unless u two have been together for, like 10 years, then there is no guarantee yet that sacrificing ur career is a good move unless u are such well-known in ur field that people come looking for ur expertise.

As hurt as it seems, u can always try and find ur other half but a good job offer won't come knocking on ur door every day especially in this forsaken land where job is scarce and good one is like finding needle in haystack.

I don't mean u simply abandon ur partner the moment u have to make the choice. Try to sit down and talk about it first. The reason why u get into relationship with him in the first place is because u trust him and u wanna be with him. So, any decision made have to be something that u two agree upon. Who knows u might a way out that doesn't involve breaking such beautiful relationship.

Be realistic but at the same time, don't forget to follow ur heart.

I will do the same as well if it ever happens to me. I'll try to be understanding if my future partner seems more busy with his work than me. After all, getting into relationship isn't just about meeting up 24/7, readily available around the clock. It's about been there when he needs u and vice versa. It's about sharing moment together, good and bad. It's about us, not you or me.

But sometimes, easier said than done xP haha

Love,
me

  1. Both. I will make sacrifices to satisfy both if I really need to. Done it before for friendship, no regrets haha
