I sort of figured out why I prefer those medium of communication more compared to others.
Those allow me to hide my emotion, my feeling while conversing with people. Things like skype, viber, tango, normal phone call; no matter how hard u try to conceal, a sensitive person will be able to discern that something's wrong from your voice, your face expression, the change in your eye. It's in our gene that we show our true emotion on our face, a way to convey what our words can't.
It's different story for word-style communication. As long I feign interest and chat in the way I always do, nobody can tell what I am actually feeling at that particular time. Keep throwing in 'haha', 'hehe', 'lol', lots of smiley and those stupid emoticons and they will act as a good camouflage.
It will be great if that is actually possible.

(hiaks hiaks hiaks...). ok, let's be serious... well, what you say is true. but i do think it can work for or against you. so end of the day, what's important is that the clarity of the strength and limitations of such media allows us to use them according to how we want it to work for us...

But...but...but work is different. I mean, I do deal with people at work, but you don't really have to express your feelings much in work. So the communication part can be a lil bit technical.

Hmm... regarding the other J, I do chat with him once in a while, and I know he's kinda in an emotional rollercoster ride lately, but I'm sure he'll be ok soon enough. He's a very strong person. =)
True also what u said. We dont pour our emotion while working as it might hinder our progress but at the same time, I think we do need to build a bonding with our colleague =)
